Finally the moment we’ve been waiting for!  This week Shazzle will be released to all our lucky Beta Sign Up Users.  The File Sharing Software program Shazzle will begin releasing the the newsletter containing the download link starting Tuesday Septemeber 2, 2008.  Our Free File Sharing product will allow you to create communities and instantly share with friends and family.  So if you signed up for our Beta and don’t get a link today, relax we didn’t forget about you.  We will be sending out as many newsletters a day trying to get all of our Beta users on Shazzle.

 Also for our Beta Users we have created a community in Shazzle under People->Friends called “Share Your Creations On Shazzle.”  So once you get the installer link come join the community and start sharing.

I am so sorry to have to deliver this news. Well not if you sign up for the Shazzle Beta with in the next week. But more if you find this by the time the window has closed. My apologies, but it’s not up to me in all fairness so I don’t know why I have to apologize.

Sad but true, the Shazzle Beta has been extended but it ends in one week on August 22nd. And this time that’s it, it’s official, no more extensions no matter who begs. We are cutting this thing off. So tell your friends or if you’re just finding us now you better jump on this, because the newest p2p file sharing programs is about to release.

What did I just say? Release? Ya that’s right. Currently the Shazzle team is looking at a Beta Release for September 1st. We have over 600 Beta Users signed up and we are going to release the Beta Installer by email in waves. So you may not get it on September 1st, but don’t worry you’ll be getting it that week.

So this is pretty big news. And since Shazzle is a community file sharing software program we want to make sure you tell all your friends. If they happen to miss the Beta Sign up that’s the only way they’ll be able to get Shazzle before our launch in late September/Early October.

This is great news right? So in early September you won’t have to tediously try and share specific files with your friends through IM clients or awful FTP’s. You’ll just be able to create a private community in Shazzle that no one can see but you and your friends and start sharing!

You’ve only got a few days left to sign up to be a beta user for the new file sharing software program Shazzle. We already have over 200 beta users signed up who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new free file sharing program. We currently have 23 unsigned bands and we’re looking to expand our capabilities of free music sharing even more by getting more bands to sign on and become a Shazzle Unsigned Band. The criteria is simple: any band who is looking to further their careers and wouldn’t mind giving us a few songs to put in Shazzle to do that! On our music dot shazzle site you can sign up and give us your band information. From there it’s simple, you’ll get an online profile on our music site and we’ll put your music in Shazzle for the public to be able to download! When that will be is hopefully in the fall. The brilliant developers at Shazzle are hard at work right now finishing up the product so we can be ready for our private beta. We expect Shazzle to be one of the best free p2p file sharing programs in the market with out a doubt. However, we know that our beta is going to be extremely important for us to get feedback from actual users. We’ve been discussing a new user interface for the product with management and marketing, but we know the best feedback will come from our private beta users. So if your interested in new technology, file sharing, social networking, pretty much anything awesome – then go to our private beta sign up page to sign up. ETA for the private beta is probably around mid to late June, FYI.

All right so Shazzle’s marketing team has hit the road pretty hard. The tour started Monday, and we’ve already hit Duke and the University of Central Florida. We had some good feedback from some interested parties. I’ll touch on two points here:

Community-Based Sharing

The use-case I’m continually pushing is what I feel is the most powerful way that Shazzle works at this point: community sharing and communication. Public communities and private communities let you share files, share links, chat live…see who’s on-line and browse profiles. You can do all this in private. Private communities, for me, are the most interesting thing about Shazzle. Collaborative projects you might be working on with co-workers or classmates are really strong Shazzle use-cases, too. People seemed to respond pretty well to the potential of this functionality.

Mac Compatibility

The feedback wasn’t all rose-colored. Shazzle isn’t yet compatible with Macs. Unfortunately, Shazzle is built in the Java language, and with the way that we currently implement things and the current version of Java, Shazzle can’t be made compatible with Macs. As soon as there’s a new Java version, I’m told this will be rectified. Until then we’re at the mercy of Sun. We realize a lot of people use Macs. We clearly value every download, particularly as we’re in our infancy and trying to grow the program; it’s not that Mac compatibility and/or Mac users aren’t a priority. It’s simply not in our power, at this point, to create that reality.

The Rub

Thanks to all who gave us some of their time and tried out the app. We really do know that you have a lot of options, and that your time is valuable, and we greatly appreciate you donating some of it to try our product and help us make it better. Feedback’s great: we love any and all kinds of feedback (except criticism of me, personally, or anything I’m responsible for. We hate that kind of feedback).
